An Enchanted Greenhouse Wedding with Brooklyn Soul at 501 Union

A romantic, soulful evening defined by lush botanicals, a fully vegan menu, and unmistakable Brooklyn energy.

From the outset, Lauren and Manuela’s wedding felt like stepping into a living, breathing space. Inspired by the glow of an evening-lit greenhouse and thoughtfully grounded in the couple’s shared values, the celebration was intentionally designed to feel lush, warm, and full of life.

Held at 501 Union in Brooklyn, a historic industrial space originally built in 1916, the design struck a balance between romance and grit. Botanical elements softened the architecture, while a modern, editorial sensibility kept the space feeling elevated and cohesive. Tablescapes featured layered greenery accented with soft golden and berry tones, stone and amber place settings, and woven linens, showing how thoughtful restraint and careful curation can transform a room.

Personal details were woven throughout the evening in ways that felt meaningful rather than ornamental. All-greenery bridal bouquets echoed the organic design language, and guests took home one of our favorite favors of the season: mini glass jars of Maldon salt. In addition to their beautifully considered design choices, Lauren and Manuela collaborated with Night Kitchen Catering to create a fully vegan menu that was generous, inclusive, and genuinely loved by everyone at the table, including non-vegans.

As a queer couple, Lauren and Manuela were intentional about creating a wedding that felt affirming, welcoming, and rooted in love, growth, and chosen family. The result was a celebration that felt deeply personal and soulful, while still centering the joy of the community surrounding them, an atmosphere that cannot be manufactured, only thoughtfully cultivated.

After dinner, guests were treated to The Self-Portrait Project’s mirror photo booth, Dun-Well vegan donuts, and a speakeasy-style cocktail menu in the lounge. Salsa dancing, laughter, and a palpable sense of joy carried the celebration late into the night, filling the space with the kind of energy that makes a wedding feel not just beautiful, but alive.
